If I'm walking down the street in Scotland on a regular day, not a festival or anything like that, and I'm wearing a kilt, would I get strange looks as I would if I did the same thing in the US? Are kilts accepted as regular attire for men in Scotland?

I've never seen a Scotsman just 'walking down the street' in a kilt in Scotland. It's normally reserved for more traditional functions and not just hanging out in a bar or running errands.

Kilts are accepted as regular attire in Scotland, and when you walk down the street you will see some men in long pants, and some in kilts. They don't raise any eyebrows there.
