you should go to a make-up store or a make-up counter in a mall. like m.a.c, clinque, chanel, lancome, ect. with being the age you are, you would want to go for more of a natural look rather than a bold look so it doesnt look too trashy. light browns for eyeshadows and eyeliners might work best. if you are going to apply eyeliner, make sure the pencil is sharp, and apply it with a light hand making sure not to put it on too thick.

Options:
Find an Aesthetician that does makeup consultations, (great for skin care too) or
A local makeup artist (may be pricey), or
A local Mary Kay, BeautiControl, or Avon Rep (they can show you in your home), or
A "mature" Department Store Representative (do not go to the M.A.C. counter)

first of all dont cake on the make up it looks tacky. I think the less the better. Use a foundation, creamy one- make sure your eye brows are plucked and are a nice shape. Always wear mascara, if you have to curl your lashes first then do so.. Always wear lipstick. If you have lines between your brows wear bangs, even if its a thin cut of bangs , no need for blush. I only use eyeliner pencil on the bottom of my eyes above the lash . hope that makes sense.. good luck

Bare Minerals products are great! it is all in powder form and covers imperfections very well--you also can mix with water for a more matte finish--but you still don't look or feel like you are wearing a mask. Hope you like it! It is available online and different types of mineral makeup available in dept. stores, etc.. I recently bought a starter kit and I love it--I have had more compliments on my skin (I am in my 40's) than I ever have had!!!!

Go to a local department store's makeup counter. The workers are usually trained in giving little mini-makeovers to customers. They can do your makeup for you and give you info on both products and techniques. This is often a free service, as it is part of a sales technique.

A pharmacy is a good place to start .... Here in Australia , a lot of Pharmacy assistants are trained in the application of make up for all skin types and ages.
Otherwise you could visit a beautician explaining that you only want a natural look in make up ...
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Find a trained makeup artist, or go to a department store cosmetics counter and ask for a makeover.
I do makeup for women (I am also 50), but unless you live in Toronto Ontario I can't help you.

teens tend to like pinks and blues and stuff.
