Let me share to you one of my favorite poems about life so you could have an idea what is life.
A Psalm Of Life
Tell me not in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou are, to dust thou returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each tomorrow
Find us farther than today.
Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.
In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!
Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act, - act in the living Present!
Heart within, and God o'erhead!
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sand of time;
Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solenm main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.
Let us then be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

Natural life was giving to us by God as a vehicle to express spiritual life the life of God. So your natural life will be meaningless until you yield your natural life to God and receive Eetrnal Life made available through the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Eternal Life is the meaning for life.

1. Life is about creating who you really want to be.
2. Life is about re-creating (remembering) who you really are.
3. Life is about simply just BEING instead of DOING.
4. Life is about knowing and not seeking.
5. Life is about not resisting but welcoming.
6. Life is about visibility and honesty and not secrets or lies.
7. Life is about love and not fear.
8. Life is eternal and it never ends.
9. Life is your creation of who are you.

The answer to your question has to do with what is important to you.
If you consider people the most important part of yourlife, then you find meaning in what you do in relation to people around you or people you influence.
If you consider something else important, then the answer to your question is answered in relation to what you consider most worth your time.
