Here's a good one. Does the size of the full Moon change over the course of the night? The next full Moon is Dec 4. Find a way to measure the diameter when it's on the horizen, partway overhead, and directly overhead (sunset, 10 pm-ish, around midnight or 1 am). It will look bigger on the horizen - but is it an optical illusion? It's a good project to actually do some measurements (try holding up a ruler AND taking pictures to compare sizes), and to do some background research on (try www.badastronomy.com).

Try the Grand Unified Theory.

Quantum Physics can be quite fascinating and there is a new particle accelerator coming online in 2007.
