Yes, I have moved several times to try different life styles. I would say they were all good experiences for me. But the truth is that you can reinvent yourself right where you are as long as you are living in an urban area. In a rural environment, I think that is more difficult but possible. The important thing is to live your life for who you are. Like minded people will gravitate towards you. If you have true friends, they can accommodate the changes you make and take the time to understand you.

I moved to Japan when I was in my early 20s, and to a certain extent, I re-invented myself. But, you know, I brought all my "baggage" with me. To tell you the truth, I think you can re-invent yourself anywhere. In fact, I think it's easier and more productive to re-invent yourself first, THEN move. At least then you know who your new self is, and you don't have to cope with that as well as all the unfamiliar surroundings and people.
Moving, or even just travel, is definitely a growth experience, though. It may not change your whole self, but it will definitely change something.

I've done it twice and both times its been great. But there are only so many times you can do that...it gets tiring. You can also get a little addicted to the high of being in a new place, being a new person and then you don't ever put down roots, which I guess can be good or bad depending on your perspective. I do miss being able to pick up and move sometimes.

Re inventing your self isn't available- you will possibly no longer rigidity your self too have self assurance particularly matters. What you're in a position to do is reconfigure the style you act too a definite volume, and detect new place fashions and idealogies too carry on with. yet, quite some our character is hammered into form in the time of youngsters. Reconfiguring your self could be a extra useful term. yet yeah, in a nutshell: detect a purpose (Mine is being an honourable person). And carry on with matters and human beings that lead too that (Philosophy, my kickboxing instructor, etc)

Yes recently I have been thinking a lot about moving away and reinventing myself. In my life I have reinvented myself twice....both out of necessity. The first time I needed to move out of a situation that was going to take me into a future that I believed was going to be difficult and very dark. The second time I looked around me and found that I needed to reinvent myself and help a group of people that desperately needed help. I believe the concept of reinvention is important and allows a person to grow and expand and aquire what they want and realize who they can be. I think reinventing oneself sometimes requires you to move to another location but moving is not always necessary.
You provided me with good advice on one of my questions and I have read some of your answers. I think you are the kind of person who will reinvent herself more than once , and grow in many ways.

Of course I have, but I've learned that it is not good to run away from my problems because they'll just keep chasing me. I learn that it is better to stay and try to work things out or count to ten before opening my mouth because in the end someday people will get over you and focus on someone else. If you are in a weird situation try staying instead of running away from your problems. When you run people know what gets ion your nerves and will just keep trying you over and over again and every time you'll end up mad.

Yes. I almost did, my sophomore year in college. Wish I had. I've been doing it right here (without moving) over the past six months. Surprisingly successful! Just tell people, as it comes up, what your new self does or doesn't do. You'll be surprised at how people respect just the fact that you've taken control of your life!

You can never totally re-invent yourself.
You have your past following you like a shadow.
Unless, of course, you shun your family and all current responsibilities or you're in the witness protection program with a completely new identity.

Yes, and I did just that six years ago! I am much happier as a result. Scary at first and there was some adjustment to make but was worth it in the end.

I would love to move to start over, but I don't think I'd want to re-invent myself.
I've already started being the "new" me and those who don't like it are just having to lump it..
