I've been to Boracay which is beautiful. I love beaches and nature and water falls. Any recommendations?

The Philippines is a beautiful country and there are many places to see. It is very underrated. If you want something to do with nature, Palawan has two resorts that have been rated one of the best nature resorts by some ratings agency, I saw it on the news the other day. There are great caves and coral reefs to explore. El Nido, I heard is beautiful. Bohol is great too, and if you don't want to just go to the beach but see other things like say, the Chocolate Hills, then it's the place to go. Boracay is a great beach and if you want to party then go there, they also have great spas. Cebu has great beaches as well and it has a lot of historical sites. Sorsogon is good if you want to see whale sharks, La Union is good for surfing. There are so many places. Manila, the capital is mostly if you want to see historical sites. The night life is good too.

Chill out in El Nido, Palawan. This jungle beach town on the northern tip of Palawan hasn't changed much since before Spanish colonisation and has been cited as Alex Garland's The Beach. Explore the many islets of the nearby Bacuit archipelago on a boat-hopping tour, where the water so clear you can see the fish darting in between coral at 15 metres deep.

Pagudpud in Ilocos has beautiful beaches & falls. We stayed beachfront & the sand is really more finer than Boracay. Boracay is more commercialized. If you love nature, then you will love it there.
Palawan is another place in the Philippines which is famous to foreigners. I had stayed in Dos Palmas! You can walk by the bridge & see the fishes down. See reviews in www.43places.com Amanpulo & El Nido are for the rich people. It is expensive there!

Take a tour. You'll probably get to see Manila, Pagsanjan Falls, and the Taal lake & volcano (if you're not planning to go in the next 2 weeks or so - right now it's a little active so no tours) and overlooking Taal you'd probably have lunch in Tagaytay City (600m 1800' above the lake) where I live :-)

For your info, there are also boat trips around the volcano island (around 3 hours). From north side you can take a pony ride to the main crater (3 craters on the island). There are lava fields on the south (Batangas) side. Finaly, there are lots and lots of fish (mostly tilapia) pens in the lake.

Now a few words about Pagsanjan falls. Better if you go with a tour, otherwise they'll charge you double, plus ask for outrageous tip. You go up the river, they drag you through some cascades, and at the end is the falls. For a little extra consideration you can get on a raft and they'll take you behind the falls.

That's about it...

Oh my god boracay is nothing compared to the beaches in this island called Coron in Northern Palawan Philippines. It's just so beautiful there! You can go to El Nido, Club Noah, Dos Palmas, Kayangan Lake, CYC beach... they're all in Palawan! Wooooo!

If you want beaches, nature and waterfalls, I suggest you go to Camiguin Island in northern Mindanao. It is a small island (you can drive around island within 1 hour),rural and quiet place to relax. Since it is a volcanic island it has hot and cold springs, historic sites and 7 volcanoes to choose from. They also have dive sites and some smaller islands to explore.

Busuanga / Calamian group of islands (N. Palawan). 3 big islands, 100 little ones, lots of wildlife, a few waterfalls, lakes, diving, fishing .....

Club paradise on the north coast has an awsome house reef with a lot of friendly turtles!
