I don't like burkas very much, but there are plenty of times when I wanted to be invisible for a while. I think that's what burkas are all about - safety in invisibility.

Carol Burnett was the only one I can think of who was able to pull it off. I saw a rerun of one of her comedy skits and it really cracked me up. She was doing a scene for Gone With the Wind & she came down a grand flight of stairs wearing the curtains she saw in the window. (like from the movie)
As for actual burkas, I prefer my curtains on windows, but that's just me.

I think that if a woman CHOOSES to wear one out of religious conviction, who are we to judge? Being forced to wear one because men can't control their urges is stupid and I think we should give the men blindfolds and seeing eye dogs instead. I have wanted to wear one. When I'm bloated and all my pants are leaving marks around my waist, it seems like a nice alternative. But something tells me that I would only enjoy it until I started sweating and feeling like I was wearing my ghost Halloween costume from 1st grade, minus the flashlight and candy.

I think that burkas are the male gender's way to control the female gender and to keep them subservient.

No, I would never want to wear one.

my husband has sent me a couple from his travels, and i've only worn them for a few minutes of fun.
i would never want to wear a burkha in day to day life. aside from the fact that it is a symbol of subjugation, it's highly uncomfortable and impractical... can you imagine being able to protect yourself with self defense or driving safely while wearing one??
