Well, the sole purpose of business is to make profit.

Department store employees are required to ring up a certain dollar amount, called a quota. If they do really well above that quota they will get bonuses or commissions. So if I understand what you want to know, yes, they are financially incented to sell as much as possible.

Yes, try to remember that when they suggest products. They make a commission on the sales they bring in that day.

Yes, they're going to make a profit from trying to sell you specific products, regardless of whether or not they're actually good for your skin.

It may depend on what counter you go to. Was it MAC, Prescriptives, Estee Lauder, Clinique???? Maybe different policies for different counters.

they make commission i used to work as that in my previous years.
