I've been wanting to learn how to sew those cute little tote bags for a while, but I can't find a pattern for them. I've never really sewn before, so I need one that's easy. Anyone have any ideas?

This is probably one of the easiest projects for a beginner. Decide how deep and wide you want it to be then cut a piece of sturdy fabric as wide plus 2" and twice as long plus 2". Fold the fabric in half lengthwise with right sides together and stitch up each side making seams about 1/4" wide. For added strength, do a double seam on each side. Turn the bag right side out and turn the top under 1/2 " and iron then turn under again another 1 1/2" and stitch all the way around about 1/8" from the edge of the hem. Cut 2 pieces of webbing the length of the handles you want and pin them into position on each side of the top of the bag. Stitch each side of each handle on the lower edge and again about an inch above that. Stitch an "x" between each line. For even mire strength,do this again on each handle end.
