Do some research www.erowid.com
LSD doesnt caus your brain to "bleed"... thats just stupid.
The main problems of LSD besides hurting yourself while your on it is it may make latent mental disorders become stronger.
Don't listen to all these brian washed fools about how bad it is for you.. Vitaiman C and aspirin are more toxic for your body than LSD.
thats doesnt mean its 100% safe but it defintly wont kill you, unless u do somthing stupid like jump out of a window.
anyways like i said go to www.erowid.com and search for LSD, they will have anyhting you need too know and more.
haha notice the post a few above mine "Don't follow the crowd" and notice how every other single person who responded say to stay away from LSD... are they you? do they run your life? do they know you? No.. i dont think they do, you need to make the decison for yourself, everyone wants somthing diffrent out of life and these people have no right to tell you what to do.
just educate yourself on LSD extreamly well like i have.

I really don't think that psychedelic drugs are necessary for expanding your mind. Meditation, Lucid Dreaming, and artistic expression will be much more rewarding pursuits.
That being said...
LSD gets such a bad rap in our culture, it's ridiculous. It WILL NOT make your brain stem bleed, it DOES NOT stay in your spinal fluid for the rest of your life, you ARE NOT considered legally insane after taking it 7 times. That's all bullsh*t. It's propaganda used in the war against drugs and they are all 40 year-old lies.
LSD is a water soluble chemical, it goes through your body the same way sugar or caffeine does, and you pass it through sweat, urine, etc. within a few days at most.
As far as being the key to enlightenment goes, here's my opinion: LSD changes your consciousness temporarily, that's for sure. If you are studied in philosophy and psychology, you may be able to benefit from this (temporary) consciousness. You can maybe learn something from it; benefit from actually experiencing your connection to the rest of the universe. If you're just some kid f*cking around and getting "high", this experience may scare or traumatize you, or it might just be fun (but not really beneficial).
SO... it's only a key to higher consciousness if you know how to open the door.
ps- also, any LSD you get in America has a good chance of not being LSD. PCP, ecstacy, DXM, other drugs are often sold as LSD or acid. Be careful and consider your source.

No it is not. Don't mess with that crapola. If you want to find ways to "open your mind" or see things in a different way, please stick with drug-free alternatives, which can be much more effective: meditation, yoga, fasting, fasting and a retreat to a wilderness area where you have no contact with other people for a few days and reading widely from literature from a lot of different cultures around the world.

Learning to be introspective while lucid is the key to opening your mind. Start by reviewing every evening the decisions you made during the day and analyzing why you made those decisions and the effects those decisions have had on others.

Hey numbnuts, I've seen first hand what it can do to a person. It can literally change you foreverrrrrr. No re-cooperation. It can alter your brainwaves for the rest of your life. All it takes is that one bad trip. Then again. If it'll open your mind. Geesh!

No it is not. It may put you in a state of euphoria, which will make things appear differently; however this is just an illusion. Don't be fooled you are playing with fire, don't let your curiosity get the better of you!
