There are lots of things on the market that would help. Blistex, Chapstick, etc.. One of the best and cheapest things you can use is just plain old Vaseline. If it is generic it will be called petroleum jelly. I keep a jar in my medicine cabinet just to use on my lips.

Avoid using Chapstick or any other lip balm with alcohol as an ingredient. It will continue to dry out your lips. I like plain old vaseline in the tube. Also, don't lick your lips. Remember, saliva is meant to start the digestion process.

Try these:
vitamin E (use the oil or just break open a caplet and rub it on before you go to bed)
Burts bees lip balm (best lip balm EVER)
Blistex helps too - get the cream in the white tube, not the stick

I had the same problem and I have been putting on vasoline every night before I go to bed. Try not to lick your lips and keep a chap stick type product on them in the day time. Here is a web site about lip care that I looked at it might help you as well.

Vaseline. Don't use chapstick, it does nothing.
If you want, get blistex first to soothe your lips - there's some tingly stuff in it that makes painful lips feel good. Then always use Vaseline. It's the best!

I watched a show on this and they said when you keep reapplying lipbalm it actually keeps you mouths natural moisterizers from working right so you should only use chapstick as often as really needed the best thing you can do is keep wellhydrated meaning drink lots and lots of water

Mine crack and split and bleed when I get sick, so I use Aquaphor. It's like Vaseline, but I find it works better. (They say it's safe to use on burns too, which Vaseline is not.) It's not cheap, so if cost is a factor, use Vaseline. A little goes a long way.
