Buffon - always smiling, top at what he does, and didn't let the scandal effect him one bit in WC play (that he had nothing to do with), he even stayed loyal to his serie B team.

If I had a son, and he wanted to become a soccer player. I'd choose Kaka. He is a good player and doesn't have a bad temper. I do love C.Ronaldo, but CR sticks the fingers at fans of the opposing team, takes off his shirt in the middle of game and recieves a Yellowcard (haha I love that), runs away when someone trys to give a hug, throws a temper and pushes the players he gets mad at, and always starts crying in the end. I love CR, but kaka is a much better example to young kids, he's a tough and good player, he is sweet, he hugs the guys who hug him, he always thanks god after making a goal, and he never throws a temper or curses at fans.

if i had kids and they wanted i guess a soccer player "idol" i would tell them:

Gennaro Gattuso- he is a trooper and works hard out there as a midfielder
Grosso- because he shocked everyone in WC with his unexpected outstanding performances and he seems to be so bonaccio lol!!
Buffon- he is cool and seems to have a great personality plus he didnt let the scandal stop him from being the beyond amazing GK that he truly is

those i would say r the top three for being good examples and also we cant forget a great coache like Marcello Lipi that took things one step at a time, instilled great morals and attitude in his player and brought Italy to victory!!!!

Any soccer player that help the less fortunate, any player that plays not for money. Another characteristic would be a soccer player that doesn't seem grumpy (EX Cuauhtemoc blanco always seemed mad) Players that aren't stuck up with themselves.

Zizou, not for my kids coz its ages away.(I am only 14!)Its for my little brother.he is gonna turn 2 yrs and i want him to becomel like Zizou wen he grows up coz Zizou is so talented and hardworking. There is no need to mention about his excellent football skills and tricks that made his a master of the game and a legend. He is also very humble, modest and down to earth, and even after all his success he never forgets his roots. His family and friends are very important to him.he aways regards himself as a son of an Algerian immigrant and only then as a French national player,He respects his ethincity and is proud of it and above all he has the courage to defend his sisters honour wherever he is.He is also very generous and a good human.

Zinadine Zidane.. He has had an amazing run at soccer. He also is a very talented player. He's very strong also. He never gives up and always gives 100% not only in games but in practices too. I think that giving 100% in practices and games is essential.. The only way you're going to take the time to learn and get better is in practice..

I'll choose Steven Gerrard... not only is he a world class player... he is loyal and lets his feet do the talking... he doesn't get into unneccessary trouble like brawling or clubbing... he is a great role model for any kid aspiring to be a footballer...

Del Piero... He's shown great qualities such as loyalty and leadership that is hard to find - he's a fitting example of what a player should be like!!!
