I would believe this would fall under Fair Use.

I'm not sure for what you are planning to use the videos. If it is for a non-profit, educational process (i.e. An exam.) then I would believe it would be okay. If you were, however, profitting financially from the video, then you have broken the copyright laws.

When in doubt, though, get permission.

I'm going to venture that you're making a music video or another video with clips of things used on the internet.

Legal guidelines:

You have to give credit to the original artist or author of what you show and only show some of the material like no more than 30 seconds up to a minute's worth, and not all of it.

The original artist or author is entitled to all rights of the information you're taking from their work. So, if you borrow from anything that states there is a copyright on the material you're borrowing, you can't use any of it except for educational or research purposes.

If the original artist or author tells you verbally or in writing that you can't use their work, you must destroy all copied versions of whatever material you borrowed from them.

You cannot sell your video without permission from every artist or author's work you borrowed to make it.

It would be best if you just create your own work, and avoid plagiarism altogether. Plagiarism is when you take someone else's work and claim it as your own. Don't ever do that!!! You must give credit or you will find yourself in hot water with the law pretty fast.

The link below is the current U.S. copyright law. Read it! Know it!

basically, if you take ANYTHING, information, pictures, videos, audio you name it from any public place, it is a VERY good idea to check and see if it is restricted or has a copyright. If it doesn't, do w/e u want but if it has one, you can ask the author/owner for permission to use their material once u give them credit for it. If you don' have a means of contacting an owner or even knowing if the material is resricted/copyrighted, i suggest that you shouldn't reproduce it. This is simply because if the author/owner ever found out you did that, he/she could sue you for alot of $$$.

i dont think it is legal. if you use video off another site it may be copyrighted and in that case it's the legal property of someone else and it's like stealing.

it's legal as long as it's not copyrighted or you have copyrights...

it's illegal to show a copyrighted video to a public group

however if you are compiling some stuff together to post it on the net then go for it..
