your answer should be --- mamalian or human reproduction. depends on if this is a question for a subject being studied or not, and what subject it is.

because the zygote is the cell that is formed by the fusion of two haploid gametes, one from a male and one form a female.

after the first diploid cell is created, it is no longer reproduction, but embryonic development, since there are more than one cell once they start dividing, and they all are diploid.

in most other reproductive processes, the gametes contain more than one set of chromosomes, making the gametes polyploid rather than haploid, therefore, the zygote isn't diploid.

A zygote is a diploid cell because it is made from the union of two hapolid cells, the egg and the spermatozoid. Then this zygote goes through mitosis to grow and becomes a embryo and then a foetus.

No a zygote is not the only diploid cell. A diploid cell contains two sets of DNA within it. So for each chromosome there is another homologous chromosome to match it. All cells within the human body (except sex cells) are diploid. only the sex cells, or the sperm and eggs, are haploid.
