It is a whole change in character... not just the glasses. In the movies it is hard to show that posture and the way you carry yourself dramatically change how people percieve you.... In the comics John Byrne did emphisize that Superman stands very tall and wears a form fitting costume where as Clark Kent slumps slightly and wears clothes slightly larger then he needs. This is espesally obvious in All Star Superman! Clark And Supes don't even look that similar since Clark, though tall, appears heavy necked and bumbling.
