you might need a plugin. If it came from limewire you most likely need a DivX codec. you can get that from the link below.

which format is it in?
go to the file/movie - then click on it once - the information should appear on the left side - there you should see the name of the movie and just below that you should see .avi movie or some other format
.avi is generally played on RealPlayer
.wmv is usually played on Windows Media
.DivX is usually played on DivX players
it's possible that there is a glitch in the movie itself from whoever copied the dvd to their hard drive - may not have done it properly or the dvd was scratched and didn't burn properly

I use also bsplayer version 1.37( not the last version that has adware). With bsplayer you can upload subitles also.
I use also divx player which tells you most accurately what is the problem.
i use also winamp and a player for mpeg-s
I think windows media player is the worst player for movies, avoid it.

Most torrent movies are in the "xvid" format to cut down on size as well as to preserve quality. Download and install "klmcodec". Also alternatives for the players are-VLC Player,Total Video Player,GOM Player,Jet audio(playes videos as well) etc.

you will have too find out what format it was in when you downloaded it . then see if you can find the right codex to play it.some are blocked ,too keep you from playing them and also it may have a virus in planted on it .so your best bet is too give it a virus scan and if it's clean ,then go too the help section in your media player and try too find the correct codex too play it .

Avoid using windows media player or real.
I use KMPLAYER which is really good for watching vdos. ANY ANY video or media file can be played on this player without any problem.
