I have Windows Media Player 9.0. Under the Options - Player tab, where you check Automatic Updates, both CHECK FOR UPDATES ONE A DAY and DOWNLOAD CODECS AUTOMATICALLY are checked. Am I missing anything?

What else could be the problem? The older version of Windows (Millenium Edition)? Or my 46,667 bps modem? Or the fact that I use dial-up service?

Yes, your problem is likely the dial-up service. you need a wideband internet access, either Wi-Fi or DSL. I have Wi-Fi running 360kb and even that is not fast enough for some videos (or internet TV).
