I want to use a soundboard to mess with my friends a little but I've found that a microphone is very difficult to adjust to play right. Is there a way to set the audio in to play from my pc instead of through a microphone?

yes. go to control panel, sounds, then the audio tab. then set the recording device as the playback device (speakers). May or may not work.
