When in reality it's some of the most amazing music on the planet. Do you people actually give it a good try? Or do you just think it's terrible because of some of the stuff you've heard and what other people say about it? I'm talking about real metal here by the way, like Iron Maiden, (old) Megadeth, Iced Earth, etc.

I am not judging it because I love metal myself. I am a fan of all forms of music, but metal reigns supreme to me. When you have Meshuggah,Lamb Of God, Pantera, Slayer and Judas Priest, how in the hell can you really tolerate that sewage called rap music. I know that this is an opinion, but modern rap is just horrible!!50 Cent's rap is not art. It's crap. They talk about the same subject, its the same beat and the same image. It makes me sick that most people will not think for themselves, since they have MTV tell tell them what the flavor of the month music is.

I do like some metal, in particular some of the older Black Sabbath and lots of Led Zeppelin (that's where it all began, you know). But there are too many bands out there that think if you use power chords, drop-D tuning, fast drumming, and screaming vocals, you're heavy metal. The media didn't help the cause back in the 80's by marketing bands with stratospheric hair and spandex and umlauts in their names whether they needed them or not!
Iron Maiden are good, and so are Queensryche...at least they're intelligent, which I consider an essential if I'm listening to metal. The old Rush (pre-"Spirit Of Radio") are worth a try as well, though some people can't handle Geddy Lee's voice...

For me, Metal music is the one of the most attractive and also the most amazing music that ever born in this world. The music are so "moving", rough, tough, brutal, and screams. I love this music so very much. But for most people this music is so bad ? why ? because they never listen to the music, they never want to understand what in their lyrics, and even they listen to the music, they never enjoy it. And also they see on the tv, see by them self or hear from the radio, read at the news paper, that many of metal music artists or metal music lover do the bad things in their life, like drugs etc. But what i can't accept with that untrue stereotype is they make it all the same to everybody who plays metal or who loves the metal music. That's what i call stupid. Really stupid. I hate when people say that metal music is bad.

They judge Metal music by its untrue stereotype just like everyone judges people and their differences. I don't particular like metal music, but it is true if you actually listen to the words it is very poetic. But honestly "DISCO LIVES" sorry.

people are set in there ways as stupid as there ways are but there are some people still out there that truely love old and new metal like myself and apparently you but i wish people would be more open to at least trying to listen to different kinds of music

Because they don't listen to the lyrics. Metal has some of the deepest and most thought-provoking lyrics in music.

aye man i dont listen or really care for metal but lemme tell you man i am grateful for it cuz my girl loves that shiet which i do not understand but man she can turn dis n!gga out damn! so to all the men in the world i advised you to let your woman listen to metal cuz shell instantly turn into a freak and make all your fantatsies come true. take advantage because is a win win situation.

Look at the way they dressed. Who could look at them dressed that way with anything but disdain? All the lil; scarfes and poofy hair or black leather with the little studs lol lol for God's sake.. How did I ever get over that and hear Rob Halford or Dio or Vince Neil sing?

Because most couldn't get past the volume. Its fine music. It just blew people over and they didn't stay around to hear the rest.
