My wife got her purse stolen about three hours ago. It was in the shopping basket, and she just turned around to look at the strawberries, and it was gone. Please tell me you are going to be more careful!

If you give the thieves a chance, they will take advantage of that every time. Sorry to hear about your wife's purse.

Your wife should keep her purse on her shoulder at all times when in public. That's what I do, and I've never lost a purse.

a good way to stop this is a very simple fix.

get one of the climbing clips that they sell as a keychain. and attach it to the purse strap.

then when you leave it in the shopping cart clip it to the cart.(the middle part where children are supposed to put their legs when they are useing the seat.

if someone tries to stal it now they will grab it and try to move fast to get out of sight. but it is attached to the cart. they will probally dump the cart and draw all sorts of attention to themselves.

at this point they have no choice but to run.

Well (sorry about your wife) but i just carry a wallet with me at all times...when i get to the store i ditch the wallet in the glove compartment and take out the cash/credit card and put it in my pocket...that way people don't see me with a purse...they just assume i'm browsing around the store until i get to the register to pay then i pull out the cash/credit card...plus if they try to take it out of my pocket i can alledged sexual harrassment in addition to theft!!!
