No, not necessarily. Cats have their own wonderful brand of irritants they like to share with humans, which dogs or guinea pigs or whatever don't have. If you are allergic to fine hairs, then any kind of furry critter might aggravate your sinuses.

The two animals have different proteins, which is what your body reacts to when you have an allergic reaction. So there's no medical connection between a cat allergy and a guinea-pig allergy.
However, very few people are allergic to only one thing, and many, many people are allergic to guinea pigs. I, for example, am allergic to cats AND to guinea pigs -- which is how I know they're separate (they were separate tests), and also how I know it's possible to be allergic to both.

Well, I'm allergic to cats, dogs, etc. and I have 2 rabbits and have had 2 hamsters before. No, it did not affect me at all.
It should be the same with guinea pigs also, I'm pretty sure.

You shouldn't-- unless if you're one of those people who are allergic to all animals.
What people are allergic to isn't the cat's fur, but the cat's saliva. Cats clean and lick themselves daily, and then their saliva dries out. Usually it floats around with the cat hair, but can also float about by itself, which can really affect some people who are highly allergic.
I don't know much about guinea pigs, and I don't know if they lick themselves, but even if they do, it shouldn't be the same as cat spit. :) To be completely certain you should ask an expert.

allergic reactions are stepped forward over the years. I additionally became allergic to mine. OTC meds will help, like Claritin D, so will washing nicely after dealing with. you will possibly be able to nicely be allergic to the bedding or hay or urine. Hay will mould incredibly quickly if it gets moist, so save it in a rack above the floor of the cage. Spot clean the cage on an regularly occurring basis to sidestep the pig from getting moist and the poo from molding as nicely. in case you think of it is especially from maintaining him, then try maintaining him greater on your lap and away out of your face. additionally, carry him on a blanket or a small cat mattress, etc to maintain from shifting something on your outfits. do no longer provide up on him, there are techniques around it.

it's possible. I don't think they shed as much but if you like to snuggle with them, it could definitley irritate your allergies. Try generic clairton. I use it everyday and it works awesome. You can get ti at the drugstore. It's much cheaper than the name brand and works just as well.
