You either need a Wireless Router or you can plug it into a router using the USB port.

To set up Wireless, turn your system on and go into the Wii Options in the lower lefthand corner of the Channel's screen. Then click on the Settings Icon on the right. Press the right arrow on the screen for the second options list and it will say Internet Settings. Hit that and follow the intructions. If you get an error code, write it down and visit www.support.nintendo.com. It might take a little sifting, but the answers are there.

do you mean so you can download stuff? well, if you have wifi, just have your wii search for your access point. if your network is secure you will need the WEP to put in your wii so it can get on.
