Can't give you an honest answer because I really don't know, but an old wives tale is reported to say that if you carry low it's a boy, and high is a girl. Don't know how accurate that is. But then again I personally brought a 6lb 7oz girl home from the hospital to a room decorated for a boy. The doctors repeatedly told me she was a boy. Turns out that was her toe!!!! Nicholas turned out to be Nichole.......just goes to show don't count your chickens until your eggs hatch...haha

No. I'm afraid not. Yes..there are cute, fun things to do like danging a necklace over your belly..or the Drano test. But they are just old wive's tales.
You can't even trust the old "Well..if you get acne it's a girl" or "if you have a lot of morning sickness it's a girl".
I have three babies. I had three different types of pregnancies. And they weren't consistent.
unfortunately the only "surefire" way is an ultrasound. Scratch that. That isn't even surefire because sometimes parts hide on the film.
It's fun to guess though.

No. There are many old wives tales but they are simply myths. How you carry the baby and the heart rate are two examples. These methods are certainly NOT accurate ways to detemine gender.

An ultra sound IS a medical way...the needle on a string is great if you believe old wive's tales and urban legends, but it's not accurate.

Ultrasound? Besides that, it's not medical, but you could try the needle on a string over your wrist trick ... My family and a few friends of mine have tried it and it is suprisingly accurate.

Nope. Anything you've heard about "showing differently" or your complexion changing, or pendulum tests or Chinese charts are completely old wives' tales.
