False. The cardinals had a hard time beating the cubs. They have no real power protection for Pujols as the cubs do for Lee. Four of St. Louis's 5 pitchers are free agents. Cubs still have around 25 mil to spend on pitching. Sure you have Carpenter and Waignright, but do you guys have enough money to match the cubs offense or even get ONe more bat and 3 more starters. Probably not. The cubs are in better shape than the cardinals or anybody else in the weak central. They have to do the impossible next year: STAY HEALTHY. So false.

Cubs won't make the playoffs...either will the Cards. Cubs still need a lot of pitching help. Cards have 5 good players...and also about 20 overpaid players and almost no more cap room. They have 4 pitchers in free agency. So unless they get rid of a Pujols or Wainwright..they're screwed...i look for the Astros or Reds to win Central...GO REDS!

The Cubs should be in the thick of the pennant race if they can get all their players healthy, especially their pitching staff. And didn't they just acquire Alphonso Soriano? That has got to help!
