I cant go to the doctor until Monday and dont know whether I could get it. I watched a neighbors child for a few hours earlier this week and he wasnt feeling well and it turned out what we thought was a cold was whooping cough.

typically only children get whooping cough to the point that its dangerous.

Please PLEASE take my advice, get yourself some nasal spray and use it three times a day. You want it to run down your throat, i know it sounds like you'll gag. You get used to it.

I PROMISE you it works to avoid these things from setting in.

iam 8 months pregnant and ended up with a horrible cough from some infected food i inhaled into my broncial tubes (pregnant eating machind that i am). I was on antibiotics for 5 days, but the coughing was horrible, and it was sending infected mucus back up until my sinuses. It was getting WORSE isntead of better.

My husband swears by nasal spray, and i jsut ignore him. Until yesterday. Seriously, in 24 hours iam literally 90% better.

Theres really nothing you can do to treat a virus. But the saline solution works GREAT to keep infected mucus OUT, which is what sets in a cough in the first place.

Well you are going to the doc soon, so don't worry. Can you page your ob/gyn? If so, you should. You should be ok, but it will not hurt to get an answer asap. Oh yeah you can call your local pharmacist and ask, they are really great for advice on all medical issues.

You have probably already been vaccinated for it, but I'd definitely call your doctor's emergency line right away since it is the weekend. You don't know what the risk could be.
