Freud was paranoid of The Truth and feared feelings. He wanted to blame and accuse so he would not have to confront his past. Because of this a lot of the shrinks are working with a screwed up basis of information.

Here's a fun thing to do:
Tell a friend "I was over at my Mum's (or anyone's) house yesterday, and she told me this WONderful "Knock knock" joke" So the friend says "Oh yeah??"
You reply "Weeeeell, do you wanna hear it?" and she says "Sure!"
So you answer: "OK, You start. . ."
And they say "Knock knock" and you just sit there. . .
It is good.
