The New York Yankees are going to go after all the free agents that are available right now even though they dont need them and they'll still lose in the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And my question is, Why are the Yankees such a horrible baseball team when they have the highest payroll in the Majors? Giambi, Jeter, Arod, Randy Johnson, Abreu! Hell that would send the Cubs to the World Series!

In their book, not winning a World Series every year is horrible to them! Even though they have all the good players.

They are a horrible team because they have no idea of how to play as a team. It's all ego.

I wouldn't call them a "horrible" team, it's just that their style doesn't work in the postseason. The Yankees are now the type of team they used to beat. In the playoffs you face better pitching, so outslugging their opponents does not work like it does during the regular season. Guys like O'Neill, Martinez, Brosius, and Girardi were team guys who also did the little thing. You won't see A-Rod, Giambi, Matsui, and Sheffield (when he was here) hitting and running, hitting behind the runner, or trying for a sacrifice fly. It's more of a team game in the playoffs.
Also, the Yankee pitching is not nearly as good as it used to be.

No not the Cubs it would send Kansas they suck even more. The Yankees are not that bad the fans and other people are putting pressure on the players, which effects there playing. I should know I had that problem when I played baseball on an all guys team. I agree go Derek Jetter!!!!

How horrible is it to win your ninth straight division title and have the best record in MLB? If they'd played better in a few games that happened to be against the Tigers in early October, they might have been world champions. Congratulations to the Tigers and the Cardinals, but not being in the series doesn't make the Yanks a "horrible" team.
Now, the Cubs... talk about horrible.......

they have to get back to playing baseball...its a team sport not just one superstar can win a game for you...they have at lest 5 guys that are "super stars" that keep trying to be the big name they need to learn to play as a team not focus only on there stats and making there spotlight the brightest...

Money can buy the" best" players in the world it's true but in the yankees case, money can't buy the "right" players to get it done !

The Yanks suck...they're a bunch of arrogant jerks who don't represent the true spirit of baseball. They are just a bunch of selfish overpaid bastards.
