This is some thing that I heard about a long time ago but couldn't find any more information on it. A friend ran across htis website inadvertently... It's totally worth checking out!

No. To be specific: I do not doubt that he got different results under different conditions but his explanation is wrong, what he sees can be explained totally by science.

I try to put this is an easy picture:

Water contains water molecules (imagine them as apples) and other elements or molecules (e.g. Calcium, Magnesium, Natrium, in diffrent chemical molecules): look on the label of e.g. Dasani water and you get a list, they have different volumes: imagine this as oranges, nuts, peanuts, baseballs.

Temperature is kinetic energy, means this particles are bouncing around with a certain speed and length and also bounce from each other. A certain temperature means a certain speed.

When something cools down energy is taken from he system and the particles move slower and over a shorter distance, at a certain point (depending on the form of the molecule) they start to stick together and form a "crystal", they form an ordered state.

This crystallization does not happen at once, usually it starts with two and than other molecules start to glue to this larger part.
Water molecules can only stick at an angle of 60 degrees, that is why snowflakes usually have 6 arms.

Now imagine you would have a mixture on a table and your job is to use toothpicks and stick the "apples" in a certain way together, with blind eyes but at the same time the other apples/oranges/balls are flying around and disturb you. This would be anything but easy and every Crystal you form would be different.

The next think is: during the crystallization he uses music, means he puts additional energy in the system, the system starts to vibrate. But every tone has a different vibration. Imagine the experiment while doing this in an airplane which is permanently accelerating, going up, down sideways.

Just say: Adolf Hitler and Mother Theresa. AH sounds very harsh (more disturbance, more difficult), mother Theresa sounds softer (less disturbance - nicer cry stalls) and I am sure with the syllable OM used in Buddhist meditation he would have gotten very nice crystals because it is a very even tone (and the vibration would be foreseeable).

Indeed, one could ask what is the lowest common denominator in our universe, and I would reply "simple harmonic motion". I truly believe that in the years, decades and centuries to come, humankind will come to realise the omnipresence and significance of SHM. In my mind, the key here is Harmony, and while I have no evidence to either support nor refute such findings regarding water and ice crystals, it has long been known that crystals of any form, have a natural frequency of oscillation. In fact, quartz crystals have been use for decades as the "heartbeat" of watches and computers. They are used because their frequency of oscillation is so relaible and repeatable.

It does not surprise me one iota that music of different frequencies results in crystals of different structures. Dischordant music will create dischordant crystalline structures in ice crystals and harmonic, melodic music will result in uniform crystal structures.

My reply is not intended to be a spiritual one, simply a (perhaps not so) common sense one.

That was an interesting site. I would love to have the equipment to try and reproduce the results. I'm not surprised polluted water forms ugly crystals, but just taping a name to a bottle? I don't know.

No, water is not alive. Ice crystals look cool, but they don't respond to your emotions.

This guy wrote a much better answer than I could. He deserves the points.
