Wear and tear of course. New cars have everything new and up to date. Old cars are like old people. Things eventually stop working

cars break down regardless of age, even new ones ar ein repair shops, you should go and visit repair shops for a day and see what is at them, then come back here and post what you found out

old vehicles were basic and required tuneups more often than new ones do but had hardly nay parts to wear out, an old car that is restored.rebuilt and maintained is reliable just like some new cars are,
care of, and condition is a huge factor
not just age

you need to change your thinking/reasoning

good luck

Just like people, wear and tear affects us. Especially if the diet and exercise wasnt so good! A new japanese or korean car, serviced to the book, and driven sensibly, will give huge service for many years. A worn, tired car bought by a hard or novice driver is sure to break a bit or two regularly. Good luck

as cars age, people tend to neglect them. New cars are often taken care of by their owners, besides the fact that cars are always becoming more reliable.

Well I would say the old ones break down ...because the parts are wearing out.Newer parts are less likely to break down prematurely!

mileage ,wear and tear on them, and a lot of abuse,,cause them to break down and new one will break down also if it is abused enough, but older cars have older parts on them,an older part will fail,,good luck.
