Yes, you can use a Sidekick on Cingular service, BUT.... first you would have to get it unlocked. This will cost you between $30-$40 at a wireless repair/service shop. Once you have done this, there is a very high possibility that text/picture messaging and Internet would NOT work on it. This is because the data networks are unique and not always compatible with every unlocked phone. You might want to do an Internet search to see what others have experienced.
Like the other answerer said... I would recommend the Cingular 8125 or 8525 that just came out because it has WAY more features, faster Internet, a MP3 player, and a better camera, than the Sidekick anyway!!! You can check it out here:

Cingular offers several Text Messaging packages as follows:
200 messages for $4.99
3000 messages for $19.99
400 messages + 1MB MediaNet for $9.99
1000 messages + 5MB MediaNet for $14.99
200 messages + Unlimited MediaNet for $19.99
1000 messages + Unlimited MediaNet for $29.99
Hope that helps you make an educated decision! :)

Well, if tmobile has a sidekick you can, they are on the same network (gsm). inside your phone you have a sim card, all you have to do is put the sim card in the new sidekick and it should work. Also cingular has a add on for a plan for txt messages starting at 5 bucks i think for 200 messages. If you dont have cingular service yet, get a free phone or just the sim card sent to you and order your sidekick from tmobile without service. Hope i helped
