November 1 and 2 are the Days of the Dead, when the souls of the departed return to join their families and friends in the land of the living. It is a joyous time, without the tears which can make the return pathway slippery. Skeletons, skulls and red devils are depicted happily cavorting. Even the holiday foods, the sugar candies and the breads, are molded to look like "La Calavera" - the skeleton of death.

its celebrated on nov. 2, people gather in the cemetery where their loved one(s) are burried and celebrate the life they lived.
They usually make altars which have food and things the person that died liked to have, that way when thier "spirit" comes on that day they could eat and use their stuff. Thats what they believe. its mainly a celebration of the life their loved one had instead crying over their death for a change.

You mean when all people are supposed to rise and go to sit by gods side babe? I dont think they do, I believe they come back in other ways other than going to a man in heaven. Where is this heaven no astronaut has ever seen it and we are led to believe in it being up in the sky just at the start of space. Believe in yourself and your fellow beings sweetheart.

el dia de los muertos is a day that some Latinos celebrate the lives of those deceased people. They bring the people food because they believe that their spirits will still be there.
