either they just found out that they could not get what they want from you,
or maybe they think you told them that just to get rid of them.

People are like this because... well, in general we don't know how to react to things we don't understand.
One part of them is probably picturing you with another girl and getting turned on by the idea (most guys do, dunno why,) another part is trying to deal with the fact that they have even less a chance of moving from 'friend' to 'boyfriend' than they did before (in fact, you're not just unavailable now, you're competition) and (possibly) a third part is dealing with being taught that gay people are evil, but knowing you're not.
All of that is going to be confusing as hell for them, and that's going to make them feel weird and uncomfortable around you until they sort it all out in their heads... if they ever do.

Being that these buddies of yours were guys, my guess is they may have been originally trying to get in your pants. When they found out you were gay, they stopped paying attention to you because they then knew they didn't have a chance at it. Guys can be funny when they're turned down sexually, regardless of the circumstances surrounding it. Some see sexual rejection as an insult to their manhood; others confuse it with personal rejection and think they're not welcome with you anymore. My guess in this situation is that both occurred, and they're acting weird because they don't know how to handle their feelings.

No, but guys usually hang with girls that they think they have a chance of scoring with, when they found out you were gay then they will be hanging with a straight girl. If you want them back, tell them you're BI.

I'm NOT GAY, but from the outside looking in: They probably are straight. They don't want anything to do with anyone gay because they don't want other people to think they are.

don't know how to answer to that, ok so, are you a guy, whos gay, or a girl who's lesbian? If you're a girl/lesbo or bi, well then I thnk someone told them, made a comment bout you and well it embarrased them, so they stopped talking to you!

You became competition, my dear. Being disgusted is one thing, being left for the opposite sex is a whole different threat. Think about it...Best wishes.

They might have prejudices against gays or they might be scared that they will be called gay. Don't try to please them. You could offer them a chance to ask you questions and figure things out. If they don't like you for who you are, it's their loss.

some people are uncomfortable with gay people.. they could be homophobes or just dont know how to act around you... especially with the whole political issue (in America.. idk if your american) but anyways... some people are afraid that being around gay people will make them turn gay but "gayness" is not contagious...

i hope things turn out for you
