Is there something wrong with him going to shoot pool with his friends every Thursday night? Not really. Is there something wrong with his saying he won't go, in order to keep you from going out with some of your own firends? Yes, there is. You should both be able to have friends that are separate, and have a boys' night out and a girls' night out; (play cards, go window shopping, have a pajama party and paint each other's toenails or whatever)--make photo albums, quilts, etc.
But you should also have friends that you share, go out to dinner with, have dinner at each other's homes, play card games with, etc. You should not be two people living separate lives under one roof--not if you are married. And you should both enjoy seeing each other grow in your social lives, personally, spiritually, and emotionally. The "nights out" should draw you closer, not be the cause of fighting and division.
Can you see what you both like to do together? Then doing something separately should not be a threat to either one. It should make you happy to see him do something fun, and it should make him happy to see you doing the same.
Peace be with you both! Let us know how it all turns out.

If I understand your question. You are saying that one night out of seven, you husband shoots pool with his friends. You're asking if it's OK for you to tag along with you husband?
Absolutely NOT, if he doesn't want it. You are not his mother and he is not your father. You need to treat him with respect and he needs to treat you with love. Him shooting pool once a week is not a sign that he doesn't love you. You forcing yourself into his time away from you is a sign of disrespect.
Turn the tables. Assume you had a bunch of friends, and once a week you ladies go out for a ladies night out. Also assume that this is a 'NO MAN' time and that you didn't want your husband along. If he forced himself into your time out with your friends you probably woldn't like it either.

yes, very wrong. He won't let you go with friends but he can? Double standards! Don't let him control you. He's your husband, not your daddy!
