Okay I couldn't sit through the wole thing but what I seen of it I was not impressed. My husband says every time he watches it he gets something more and something diffrent from it. He loves it. Maybe its cause we have 6 kids between the 2 of us and I just littirally "CAN NOT" sit through it, let alone, enjoy the damn thing.Any suggestions how I can enjoy a movie without interuptions by our 11yr old, 9yr old, two 8yr olds, a 2yr old and a 1yr old?(besides running away?) And any opinions on the movie?

The book is better than the movie and neither are outstanding. they are ok. It would be hard to follow the movie and really understand what is happening without reading the book. I think both book and movie have been highly over-rated.

In terms of getting to sit and watch a movie - maybe if you have a portable DVD player and you take it into the bathroom with you and lock the door and refuse to come out until it is finished!! When y kids were little that was the only place I could read for a few minutes! How about hubby taking care of the kids for a couple of hours so you can watch a movie undisturbed? Otherwise, hire a baby-sitter for a few hours so you and hubby can go to a movie. I sympathize!! Best of luck! They do grow up and before you know it the house will be quiet!!

I love the book. However I do not like Tom Hanks spoiling it for me. I feel that he is not the best choice for this particular role.
I have the movie on DVD ot home - still not watching it. Would read the book again with pleasure.

Good luck with your own Brady Branch at home.

it is a great movie but to get it fully you have to be able to sit and watch it straight thru. I would recommend trying to read book first and see if you like it. If u dont like book, dont bother with the movie
