I can't cry whenever somthing sad happens. Someone could die, and people compliment me on how well I'm handling it, but when I watch a movie I cry. Other small things make me cry, but I can't cry whenever somthing really tragic happens. Is this normal?

I am the exact same way. For me, I think, it has more to do with being the 1st born and someone who is considered a leader in the family. It is my duty to be strong though I am certainly not afraid to cry. I don't fight it, I just don't feel it. I am sad but realize it is the start of a new chapter of life.
I think it's normal but you need to evaluate if there is a specific reason.

I'm exactly the same way. I've been known to cry during TV commercials! But put me in a real-life sad situation, and I'm stoic. Don't know why...maybe I'm afraid I'll lose control if I let myself give in to my emotions in real sad situations.

We are programmed to be responsive so others are not uncomfortable around us. You are allowing yourself to feel when you are generally by yourself and not being influenced by others. Be free to be all that you can be. the world needs to see that it is safe to feel . It is the road to healing the heart and soul. 23 different chemicals are released when we cry and it is form of toxin release. The more we hold back our emotions the closer we come to physically manifesting dis-ease. Congratulations on being aware and allow your self to be loving to yourself and cry, laugh and be all that you need to be in a manner that is respect-full and energetically impeccable. Follow your instincts.

People respond differently to situations that are really sad. It isnt wrong to not respond the same way that others do. Misery loves company and sometimes people either want to join in on the misery or they want someone to share theirs.

I was just like that when I was young and as I got older it all changed. Life is a process and it is different for each of us. Don't punish yourself for being who you are as it is apt to change when you least expect it to.

No, it's not wrong. It's just that you feel different, and handles things in a different way than others do.
