I think skateboarding sounds cool, and one time I tried to but I kinda don't have balance and I was using my 6 year old brothers board so it was pretty small since I am 12. I don't know how to get started! Do I hire someone or teach myself? A manual?

First you should get on your skateboard with one foot on it.Then you should try pushing yourself slowly. But I reccomend you do it with an adult or a friend who knows how to skate. You should wear pads. You can hire someone if you know someone you can hire.Or just go online. To do a manual you have to ride slowly if you are a begginner. Then you lean back on your tail a little and try to keep your balance.I suggest you stay still on your skatboard on flat ground and lean back and try to balance. When you get the hang of manualing you should start to manual while moving.

Go hang out at the skate park - but do it safely w/ a buddy or adult supervision. Watch how the big boys & girls do it. Then start slow, practice a little everyday. You'll probably want a 1/2 way decent board and protective gear.

you should start just by riding around on a skateboard to get your balance right. when it comes to manual, reposition your feet on the board so they're on the tail and the nose, then simply put more weight on the tail until you get a good balance with the nose in the air. you'll have to learn forward to balance out.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.Get help with top skateboarders you know.Get inspiration from professionals like tony hawk.See how the other skaters skate and learn tips from them too.If you really suck at skating ,you should ask yourself,'do i like skating?'If you said yes, then you're made to skate. It's not about how good you are,it's about how much you want to concentrate on the things you like to do,and that is skateboarding.

one last thing, take lessons if you really need guidance. That's the only way out.

What foot feels comfortable once you stand? it particularly is not very not easy you in basic terms could desire to suck it up and take the falls it happens to everyone. Take it from me i'm a expert skater. and you're attractive will you bypass out with me?
