or don´t they want to tell in case they´re mistaken, or in case someone might want to abort if the sex is not the desired one??? would there be more abortions if they could tell at the beginning of the pregnancy?? I guess in some countries there would...sorry for being so ignorant...

we all start out sexless... we don't start developing as male or female until about 7 weeks, and it isn't apparent until about 18 weeks.

p.s. this is why guys have nipples... in case we would have become women.... and it's why women have clitorises... in case they would have become men!

The sex of the baby doesn't develope until about 18 weeks so, I guess the answer would be...YES! lol Their really not able to tell prior to that point in pregnancy.

I live in Pennsylvania, alot of the hospitals have stopped telling the patience the sex of the baby to avoid lawsuits. People would go out buying everything, and sometimes the doctor would make a mistake.

go on webmd.com they do a week by week guide they can tell what week the genital areas start to develop
