It is illegal so I suppose the only benefits would be free room and board courtesy of your respective state prison.

ummm i guess the benefits are only for the ones at the top, every sucker on the bottom always loses out. if your at the top there is a chance to make a fortune b4 the pyramid collapses. if you enter one late your only gonna lose money

Of course you realize that it is illegal, and you will lose all your friends, and everyone would think you are evil. Aside from that the purpose of the scheme is to make money without working for it.
