In your answer to someone else's question earlier, I noticed you seemed to think you couldn't just 'chill out' on your couch and play a game, but that's not the case at all. A wrist flick is plenty, in my experince. A couple of the Wii Sports games took a little more than that, but those were geared to demonstrate the technology and not much else.

I played Zelda from my couch last night, no problems.

I like the Wii because it's inexpensive and because I like and appreciate the light-hearted aspect of Nintendo games, that a lot of XBox and Sony fans characterize as 'kiddy'. That still makes me giggle. I was playing Nintendo when most of them were in their Pampers. This is not because I am squeemish or offended by gore and violence, I was right there on the frontlines when Doom and Mortal Kombat were being called 'distasteful'. It's because, for me, blood and gore don't make a great game and I find developers often use them as distractions to draw your attention away from actual content.

I also have a PS2 and I like it as well. Some of my favorite franchises have grown to maturity on it.

I'd have to say, it's all summed up by comparing the controlers of the XBox, GC and PS2. The PS2 has the best all around design for a controler of the three and the XBox controler is basicly a clunky ripoff of the same design. But I prefer the GameCube controler because I feel it was designed by someone who played a lot of games and really put some thought into it. I thought it looked weird at first myself and actually joked with my friends about it. But then after I'd had my hands on it for a while, I realized it was easily the most fluid I'd ever used after I'd gotten used to it.

And that's how I feel about Nintendo. On the surface, it looks like a lot of bright colors and cartoon characters, but that was all born in the hearts and minds of people who are really passionate about their games and their company. For me, that's something a googleplex of polygons and all the Hi-Def in the universe can't replace.

I paid $266, after taxes for my Wii and fiddy dollah for Zelda. So around $316. The only problem I encountered was in setting it up with my Wireless Router and I resolved that within an hour on my own.

I like everything about the wii, the controller is very responsive to your actions, and the game-play is very good. I got Zelda and call of duty 3 for it, and i am very happy with it so far. I have not hooked it up to the Internet yet but am looking forward to it. In all it cost me a little over 450.00 dollars, for the wii, 2 games , one memory stick and 1 year of insurance coverage for it.

i spent over 600 dollars on my wii and had to wait 12 hours to get it. it was worth every penny and minute. it's the best system that i have ever played. i got the system, extra controller, extra nunchuck, classic controller, memory card, wii points, and several games. i even got skins to go over the controllers so that they are colored.
