I am attempting to write a story... I am trying to think of a profession for this character, but I can't come up with anything. I don't want it to be anything that requires a lot of schooling. Does anybody know common professions between 1910 and 1920?

This is a very interesting time. This was the passing of one age, and the coming of the age of the automobile and the truck.

There were trains. There were still coopers, weavers, smiths, and such like that.

There were also scientists and engineers, who were busy inventing motors, vehicles, aeroplanes. There were dirigibles, like the Zeppelin.

Read your history. Read, research, talk to the very elderly. There are still some who were children then.

Your character could be a mail carrier. Store owner or delivery
person. Restaurant owner or worker. These jobs still require
knowledge in the field like carpenter etc...
