By the time of his death in 1937, Rockefeller's remaining fortune, largely tied up in permanent family trusts, was estimated at $1.4 billion. (worth about 15 billion in today's $US)

Howard Hughes is correct but it was his corp. Hughes Corporation and because he was not available he was in hiding(said to be dead), but still he was the first to have that enormous amount of value. Hughes Airwest, and Hughes Aircraft Corp.
The interesting thing is who got control of all of that money and that he was not crazy when he said they were trying to kill him(they being the shadow government to launch their projects of study) Today known as Star Wars.
