For nine plus years I was using Avast free for home personal use an I never had one virus in two computers. Last week I was hit with six trojans all at once in my primary pc. Avast failed to stop with an excellent real time scanner. Plus upon scan did not catch one of the six trojans. (I removed an installed the free "AOL", antivirus powered by Kaspersky Labs). The link is below. On the very first scan found all six trojans and destroyed.''

This antivirus is free from "AOL", in you don't have to be a memeber of aol. They will ask you for your email so that you can receive your free key good for life. Updates are almost every hour on the hour, plus the real time scanner runs on boot up and when you shut down, plus while you are surfing.

I highly recomment Nortons Antivirus 2007. It will take care of any viruses. It does a scan before it installs to your computer.
Then be sure to keep it updated and have the settings activated to protect you with messenger, email, downloading from the internet and opening any one elses files. It comes with a firewall and spyware detection too.

An Antivirus program and Firewall are critical to protect your PC from malicious software. Antispyware software is also very important. The third piece of the puzzle is alternatives to well known programs such as IE and AIM that are less vulnerable to attack.
