1. Don't let work take over your life.
2. Be interested in anything and everything.
3. Stay healthy.
4. Treat each day as if it's your last (because you never know). This doesn't have to be hard work but it does mean you won't just not get around to doing things. Be realsitic.
5. Be happy. It sound like a cliche, but so many people are so preoccupied with being miserable and put upon!
6. Do all those things you say you want to do - that way you'll have no regrets.

So many have said "live each moment as if it is/could be your last", but that implies no thought beyond the moment, no opportunity for growth or self-knowledge, no willingness to improve the human condition or environment for our heirs. Perhaps they mean "live each moment as fully as you can, truly enjoying and undergoing the experience" but to me that seems as pointless as climbing a mountain only looking at your feet. Each step might be perfectly realised but the journey is ignored.
If "the unexamined life is not worth living", then a worthwhile life is one in which a person attains self-knowledge. Understanding and coming to terms with who you really are, qualities, flaws, warts and all, is essential. From that point, you are aware of the journey you are on and can have a goal. You can choose how you want to grow and change, how you want to affect the people around you, how you wish to be perceived. To be cliched, you become captain of your destiny and give your life purpose - whatever that purpose might be - rather than simply reacting to the events in your life. When you have purpose and self-awareness, it's impossible not to live each moment as fully as you can, seeing it as just part of the whole journey. Even terrible events can be seen in context as essential experiences without which you wouldn't have truly lived or reached your full potential as a human being. For instance, you can't know true happiness without knowing sorrow and as everyone finds out, the price of love is grief. The one without the other is meaningless and that's an understanding you can only reach if you see the "big picture", I believe. What's the best way to live? To find out who you are and that life's a trip. Pick your destination and enjoy the ride.

Without all the thinking! All that 'living each day as if it were your last' is ridiculous. It just means your trying to hard when you should be experiencing life as it comes. The good with the bad etc. Don't just exist.... Live.

I know how people like to say "Live like it's your last day to live"
-Seriously...that doesn't make sense, who would want to live knowing they are going to die by the end of the day?
Live life like you don't care...But live it honestly...
