I don't think either was best. The reason you felt that they were both great was because they complemented each other. Because the actors were both so good, each of them used his character to make the other character more interesting. If one of them was obviously better, it wouldn't be a very good partnership. Therefore, the only way to prefer one to the other would be personal preference towards the actor. The actor wouldn't be better, only preferred.

IMHO Tony curtis....he used far more facial expressions than Roger Moore. (mind you, Moore having alsmost all the time the same facial expression might have been due to the aristrocatic nature of the part he had to play)

that is so unfair i love Tony Curtis and any film that his in - but Roger stands for everything that Brits love or at least want to be portrayed has - so that's a toughie don't make me choose
