I can speak for one family of Turkeys, and this is no joke....
I'm a runner, and I train on some back roads in an area between suburbia and the woods. There's a family of turkeys that like to go running with me when I pass by their neck (no pun intended) of the woods.
I guess they just mill around and wait for me to come by in the afternoon.

Listen, they are incredible workaholics, and they just have no spare time. Any who have any seemingly spare time at this time of year are running from butchers or are shopping for the holidays.
