The boiler was locked out, the pressure was almost nil. I re-pressurised it to 1 bar and there was a green light. But in an hour, the pressure reached to 2.1 bar. Is that normal? On searching web its showing anything between 1 bar and 2.5 bar is normal.

1 to 1.5 bar is normal but the pressure will increase as the system warms up if its getting to 2.5 it may be that the expansion tank (the red thing ) is in need of recharging Ask the engineer to do this next time you have it serviced, not urgent unless it gets to 3 bar.

I don't know about bar, but if you convert it to PSI then you would need a minimum of One-Half psi per foot of elevation. Elevation, or head, is measured from the boiler to the top of the highest radiator in the system. I will see if I can find a conversion table.

10 PSI = 0.689475 Bar
