I've had my nose pierced for several months, and rather like it except that my nose screw keeps slipping and showing at the bottom of my nostril. How can I prevent this from happening? Are L shapes better? Is there another type of nose jewelery that does not have this problem?

(This is a serious question for serious answers. Those who feel the need to give their opinion on my jewelery choice, try to remember that you are probably not a person I would be interested in impressing. Thank you for your restraint.)

I had this same problem, and I went into a piercer's shop and they were able to bend the screw differently so that it 1) sits tighter against the nostril and 2) that the shape is so that the curl of the screw is wider, thus making the actual length of the screw shorter. I dont' really know how to explain that 2nd point except with charts and an easel...

Anyways... bring it into a respected piercer... if they don't know how to help you, find someone else ! There are many awesome piercers that should be able to fix your nose screw for you.

PS: Regarding other shapes: the screw is by far the healthiest for your nose: barbell shapes increase infection liklihood and can damage the cartiliage of the nose when inserting and removing, and L shapes can damage the inside of your nose more because of the L shape. Screw is the most respected and safe shape for having in your nostril.

yea i had the saaame problem for awhile.
i tried the L shaped ones and i lost those all the time, they fell out way to easy.
The best ones to use are the little studs that have the little ball at the end of them to keep them from falling out. and usually these ones are cheaper....the only downside is is that once you get it in, the hole forms to the size of the ring, so when its time to get it out you usually have to snip the jewel off the outside and take it out through the inside of your nose. simple and painless...i dont change my ring often anyways so i like these ones best because no screws, bars or anything. and if you bump your nose theres nothing there to cut you and cause a nasty lil bleed =)

All you ought to do is to make the hoop face in route of the decrease back and push it a touch. If i'm not making experience, in simple terms to on Youtube and seek for, " a thanks to conceal a septum piercing"

I would suggest the twirl thing...its the most common kind, i got mine at the peircing place. it loops up inside your nose. It is uncomfortable for the first day, then you never notice it.

I'd guess the L-shape might hold its place better.
