No. People should have the right to live the way they want to live and do what they want to do. Should we ban playgrounds because they result in X number of injuries to children on a annual basis? Should we regulate salt content because heart disease kills hundreds of thousands every year? We're all gonna die someday. I'm not gonna worry about living another five years so I can live to 85 years old in a nursing home at 10K a month. Rebuttle: Carbon emissions from automobiles account for 65% of impurities in the atmosphere. The amount created by smoking is less than negligable, and to suggest second hand smoke is a cause of lung cancer among non-smokers is a weak arguement. All of us can choose to not live with a smoker if we don't want to. (Radon gas is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers.) Banning smoking in resturaunts is fine for some. To suggest it is banned in the US is completely rediculous.

It is possible. I live in California & it is banned in ALL public buidings & businesses. The smokers have been forced to go outside & now people are complaining about second hand smoke injuring children. I stopped smoking & that was my choice. I'd hate to see what would happen if people couldn't get their nicoteen "fix". If the price of coffee keeps going up & they switch the cigarette tax to the coffee, then I could see it being a possibility, but I just don't think the old die hard smokers are going to go along with it gracefully! :o)

I smoke herbals and in the privacy of my own home, so putting a ban on smoking won't do any good for anyone who does smoke; they'll find some place to do it and buy them, especially with the use of the internet. If it becomes illegal nationwide, I'll cross my heart and pray for the more important injustices; like starving families who have been kicked out into the streets because of a president who "talks " to God and cut off their disability.

It will not be banned. They can smoke outside. In fact I just came from a restaurant where it has a sign that says Outside smoking permitted. It will never be banned. I don't smoke, and am personally glad that most places don't have it inside as I am allergic to it. It is their right to smoke however and I have no problem with it as long as it is not in my face.

Ever since the beginning of our nation the tobacco industry has been one of the biggest industries and makes us the most money. one of the reasons we were able to support ourselves in the early years of the 13 Colonies was because we could grow tobacco here and we sold it to Great Britian.

aren't health teachers awesome? my health teacher in 6th grade told the class that when we were learning about tobacco and alcohol

I'm a nonsmoker but, i think a lot of ppl are going over board with this smoking ban.
those ppl pay triple tax for them. that's money for our roads and schools...and so on.
the government is over doing it on the bans.
if those ppl want to smoke...let them smoke...I'd rather deal with that than a drunk driver, any day.

Maybe some day. But I don't think it will be soon.
Wish I had never picked the first one up. Anyone out there that thinks they can play with it and leave it whenever they want??
Guess again.
