Borg played Australian Open only once, He won 11 grand slams, how many should he had won if he played the Australian Open every year during his career?

His last Grand Slam singles championship was the 1981 French Open. He was only 25 years old at the time. It's conceivable that
he could have won between 15-20 Slams during his career. He was just that dominant. As someone mentioned earlier, his failure to win the US Open, despite four trips to the final caused him to prematurely retire. You also have to remember the Australian Open was played on grass on those days, which is a surface that Borg excelled on. The Australian Open didn't convert to the Rebound Ace surface until 1988, when he would
have been in his early 30s. I think since Sampras stopped at 14, and he was ahead of Sampras in terms of pace of Slams won at the same age, 15-20 Slams, let's say 18, for the halfpoint, would
not be out of the question, even with the emergence of stars like
Becker, Lendl and Edberg. I would have loved to see Borg play
Becker on grass at the All England Club. I think he would have
been favored against Lendl or Wilander at the French Open. He
would also been one of the favorites Down Under.

He won 11 as you said a record 6 French. I do not know why he never played the Australian. Maybe someone on here knows the answer to that. I think he was a nervous flyer and that may of been a reason, that is just gossip though. He did however play the US OPEN every year and that was his Achilles heal, not winning that tournament. He really wanted that one. I always felt that the New York crowd made it hard to concentrate , but that is just my opinion. Fact though he did have a death threat sent to him before a final against Mac. ( I think that would make anyone nervous). The era in which he played in was huge for the growth of tennis.

Unfortunately "should've" doesn't count for all that much...
