Lita's not retiring. This is most definitely a work, building off the Trish retirement. Unlike Trish, Stacy Kiebler, etc., Lita hasn't made her mark outside of wrestling and doesn't likely have any other immediate career prospects. Plus, unlike Trish, Lita really is involved romantically with a WWE wrestler. Why would she stop traveling with her man? Why would she give up a six-figure salary for mostly playing arm candy for her boyfriend? It just doesn't make sense.

If she wants to pursue her acting and music career, then I'm happy for her.
However, from a wrestling standpoint, I see her leaving as another sign of an end to an era. With Trish gone, and now Lita, there are hardly any women left that can be considered wrestlers first and divas second. Most of the newcomers in the past couple of years are being hired for looks, with not too much consideration given to if they have any athleticism to them (no, being thin doesn't count), much less actual wrestling ability, or the intangibles: personality, mic skills, etc.

No. Lita has done tremendous things for both women's wrestling and wrestling in general. People turned on Lita because of a choice that she made in her personal life. Whether that choice was right or wrong, that is not for us to decide. Lita is a great athlete and she will be missed.

No way.
She has been one of the best divas ever. Period. For one thing she actually knows a thing or two about wrestling. She didn't get into it by all the diva search crap, she got into it through determination and talent.
Half of the current divas probably don't know how to spell determination. Its quite depressing to see them running around having wet t-shirt contests or even worse - actually trying to wrestle. It gives wrestling a bad name.
It would have been fun to see one last reunion of Team Xtreme properly.

A part of me wants to do my happy dance but another part of me wants her to stay really bad.She has really done alot in the women's division and I thank her for that as a future diva but now since she's in a rock band she has an excuse for sleeping with all those men.
